TV programme Fuori dal Coro, let’s clarify

With regard to the episode of the TV programme Fuori dal Coro on Rete 4, broadcast on Tuesday 9/03/2021, we would like to follow up on the official communication we published on 3/03/2021 on our website to provide further explanations.

We think that the TV programme Fuori dal Coro is keeping on spreading wrong and misleading information about our Company and our activity. Therefore, we would like to confirm and underline what we have already stated in our previous official communication – which can be consulted here – adding some clarifications.

1. Ente Certificazione Macchine does not issue and has never issued CE certifications for FFP2 masks or other personal protective equipment, as it is NOT a Notified Body for the Regulation (EU) 2016/425.

2. We have NEVER certified tractors, as incorrectly stated by the TV show. On the contrary, ECM operates as Notified Body no. 1282 authorised to carry out conformity assessments and issue product certifications according to ISO 17065 standard, with respect to the requirements of the following 8 directives:

  • Directive 93/42/EC Medical Devices (MDD)
  • Directive 2014/33/EU Lifts and Safety Components for Lifts (Lifts)
  • Directive 2006/42/EC Machinery
  • Directive 2014/34/EU Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Atex)
  • Directive 2000/14/EC Noise
  • Directive 2014/30/EU Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Directive 2014/68/EU Pressure Equipment (PED)
  • Directive 2014/53/EU Radio Equipment (RED)

Our accreditations can be consulted on the official database of the European Commission NANDO, at this link.

Ente Certificazione is also a Testing Laboratory n. 1515L accredited by Accredia DL according to the ISO 17025 standard, an accredited body for the certification of Quality Management Systems according to the ISO 17021 standard, and a Training Body authorised by the Emilia-Romagna Region.

3. As soon as we were informed, through the above-mentioned transmission, that there were FFP2 and FFP3 masks on the market which we had never authorised and which improperly showed our notification number 1282, we immediately reported the fact to the police. We also notified all the surveillance authorities (Guardia di Finanza, NAS, Carabinieri) with whom we are in constant contact and the European Commission at the Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), Directorate B Investigation II Unit B.2 – Tobacco & Counterfeit Goods. [See our official communication here].

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been collaborating with the Customs and Monopolies Agency – Directorate of Fraud and Control – Investigations Office, in order to identify and eliminate from the market any illegally introduced masks or products. We remind you that using our notification number 1282 on FFP2 and FFP3 ppe masks is an abuse and a fraud. We therefore invite anyone who has notice of such activity or who gets in touch with personal protective equipment improperly displaying our notification number 1282 to report it to the market surveillance authorities and to inform us immediately at our offices at info@entecerma.it

We therefore strongly dissociate from what was said in the Fuori dal Coro programme, which we believe spread incomplete, untrue and misleading information. We reserve the right to protect our name and image in the appropriate contexts.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the police and the competent authorities, who are committed every day to detecting fraud and irregularities affecting the market and consumers. We would also like to thank our customers for the trust they have placed in us and our collaborators, who work daily at our side in these difficult times and who enable us, with their expertise, to provide highly professional and quality services.
